Because of Beasts

Because of beasts, we are not allowed to roar, even when we are watching the notary certifying our claim to 1/10th of an acre with a ranch style home – 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a garage— for resale.

Because of beasts, we close doors, down windows, double-check locks, invent idioms and champions, learn to walk on two legs, to make sentences, to make cages of our faces.

Because of beasts, idleness is evil. Stop daydreaming! Don’t dawdle! It’s a beautiful day.
Don’t you have anything better to do than read a book? Go on! Get!

Because of beasts, we weave clothes to create new skin because everything is snake-born.
