Lou Lipsitz was born and grew up in Brooklyn. He taught political science for many years at UNC-CH. This poem grew out of his many political involvements in the struggles of the 60s and 70s. He is now a psychotherapist working in Chapel Hill. He has published four books of poems. The latest, IF THIS WORLD FALLS APART, won the Blue Lynx prize in 2010 and was published by Lynx House Press.
